Poems About Love At First Sight Biography
Between Us Now And Here -
Two Thrown Together
Who Are Not Wont To Wear
Life's Flushest Feather -
Who See The Scenes Slide Past,
The Daytimes Dimming Fast,
Let There Be Truth At Last,
Even If Despair.
So Thoroughly And Long
Have You Now Known Me,
So Real In Faith And Strong
Have I Now Shown Me,
That Nothing Needs Disguise
Further In Any Wise,
Or Asks Or Justifies
A Guarded Tongue.
Face Unto Face, Then, Say,
Eyes Mine Own Meeting,
Is Your Heart Far Away,
Or With Mine Beating?
When False Things Are Brought Low,
And Swift Things Have Grown Slow,
Feigning Like Froth Shall Go,
Faith Be For Aye.

On Afternoons, When Baby
Boy Has Had A Splendid Nap,
And Sits, Like Any Monarch On His Throne, In Nurse's Lap,
In Some Such Wise My Handkerchief I Hold Before My Face,
And Cautiously And Quietly I Move About The Place;
Then, With A Cry, I Suddenly Expose My Face To View,
And You Should Hear Him Laugh And Crow When I Say "Booh"!
Sometimes The Rascal Tries To Make Believe That He Is Scared,
And Really, When I First Began, He Stared, And Stared, And Stared;
And Then His Under Lip Came Out And Farther Out It Came,
Till Mamma And The Nurse Agreed It Was A "Cruel Shame" -
But Now What Does That Same Wee, Toddling, Lisping Baby Do
But Laugh And Kick His Little Heels When I Say "Booh!"
He Laughs And Kicks His Little Heels In Rapturous Glee, And Then
In Shrill, Despotic Treble Bids Me "Do It All Aden!"
And I - Of Course I Do It; For, As His Progenitor,
It Is Such Pretty, Pleasant Play As This That I Am For!
And It Is, Oh, Such Fun I And Sure That We Shall Rue
The Time When We Are Both Too Old To Play The Game "Booh!"

Apple-Green West And An
Orange Bar,
And The Crystal Eye Of A Lone, One Star . . .
And, "Child, Take The Shears And Cut What You Will,
Frost To-Night -- So Clear And Dead-Still."
Then, I Sally Forth, Half Sad, Half Proud,
And I Come To The Velvet, Imperial Crowd,
The Wine-Red, The Gold, The Crimson, The Pied, --
The Dahlias That Reign By The Garden-Side.
The Dahlias I Might Not Touch Till To-Night!
A Gleam Of The Shears In The Fading Light,
And I Gathered Them All, -- The Splendid Throng,
And In One Great Sheaf I Bore Them Along.
. . . . .
In My Garden Of Life With Its All-Late Flowers
I Heed A Voice In The Shrinking Hours:
"Frost To-Night -- So Clear And Dead-Still" . . .
Half Sad, Half Proud, My Arms I Fill.
And The Crystal Eye Of A Lone, One Star . . .
And, "Child, Take The Shears And Cut What You Will,
Frost To-Night -- So Clear And Dead-Still."
Then, I Sally Forth, Half Sad, Half Proud,
